Christ-centered teaching

At the core of our retreats is a focus on teaching that keeps Jesus at the center. Everything we share—whether it’s a message, a devotional, or a Bible study—is meant to point both students and staff back to who Jesus is, what He’s done, and what it means to follow Him. Teachings are grounded in the Bible, clear in truth, and helpful for everyday life. More than anything, these retreats are meant to be a time to step away from the noise and distractions of everyday life and refocus our hearts and minds on Christ.

In addition to our two main events—CAMO Winter Conference and CAMO Project—we host additional retreats that create space for deeper ministry, discipleship, and development. Each retreat is unique and serves a specific purpose whether it be to further evangelistic ministry, prepare and train student leaders, encourage and develop staff, or something else.

community building

At our retreats, we aim to create an environment where genuine friendship can grow. Intentional activities such as shared meals, small group discussions, and fun group games are built into the schedule to allow relationships to form naturally. These times are not distractions from the “spiritual” content but are vital to forming the kind of gospel-centered community that supports lasting transformation. At the end of retreats, participants feel more deeply connected to one another in Christ.

staff development

Retreats aren’t just for students—they’re a strategic opportunity to invest in our staff. In the midst of a busy semester or following a busy season of ministry, staff can need time to slow down, reflect, and be reminded of the why behind their work. Through trainings, conversations, and time in the Word, staff are sharpened in their leadership and encouraged in their walk with Christ. These retreats can be a chance to step back, gain perspective, and be renewed for the work ahead. Healthy ministry flows from healthy leaders, and retreats can help ensure staff are not only equipped for the task but personally rooted in the gospel they proclaim.
